Pallet flow racking is a high density storage system that requires a load aisle and unload aisle allowing for FIFO (first in first out) product flow. The load end is sloped downwards towards the unload end letting gravity do the work. Pallet flow rack can be designed to accommodate anywhere from 2 to 20+ pallets deep per lane.
While pallet flow can help increase your storage density it can also eliminate fork lift travel and minimize product damage. There are three types of pallet flow systems available - steel skate wheels, polycarbonate wheels or steel rollers. The type pallet to be used will typically dictate which system is provided.
Brakes or speed controllers are installed to prevent load acceleration and ensure that pallets travel at a safe and controlled speed. 3D tests all pallet flow lanes prior to installation to ensure customer satisfaction.
Typical delivery times are 8 to 10 weeks as each order is engineered to suit the specific application. Manufacturing plants are ideal candidates for pallet flow systems as they generally have a high number of pallets and a low number of products to store. Pallet flow can also be utilized for staging orders.
